About Us

The Society of Adventist Philosophers is a network of Seventh-day Adventist students and scholars who are involved in philosophical scholarship or value the vocation of philosophical reflection and analysis. Learn about us here.

Membership

Membership to the society is open to anyone interested in the vocation of philosophy and the stated purposes of the society. Annual fees are $50 for regular membership and $25 for student membership. Update your membership here.

Students are strongly encouraged to apply for fellowship opportunities here.

What we do

1. Scholarship

Organize annual conferences on philosophical topics that are relevant to the Christian community

2. Network

Facilitate networking between Adventist scholars with an interest in the philosophical enterprise

3. Advocate

Advocate for the study of philosophy at Adventist institutions of higher education in ways that are faithful to the goals of Adventist education

4. Reflect

Seek to serve as a resource to the Church as it faces philosophical questions and challenges and assists in the development of a better self-understanding as well as an understanding of intellectual currents of culture and at large.
